Product Summary
The TYMETAL TCG-12 Anti-ram Slide Gate is ASTM F2656-07 M50 certified (equivalent to U.S. Department of State K12). Having a standard height of 8’, the gate uses an open frame structure that allows the user flexibility to match any existing fence design infill such as pickets or chain link. The TCG-12 is designed to operate manually or powered at standard operating speeds of up to two feet per second and is able to close a maximum clear opening of 18 feet. Contact us today to discuss this barrier in more detail. We also invite you to request drawings and specifications and take advantage of our extensive in-house resources.

Features & Benefits
The TCG-12 cantilever design eliminates the need for a “V” track in the roadway making it ideal for existing sites that cannot afford to block the driveway for a lengthy construction project, or in cold, snowy climates where snowplows are a daily fact of life.
This gate assembly includes three stanchions, one gate leaf, and trolleys with support wheels. The gate system is designed for long life, reliability, and easy maintenance. The new design, crash-tested 9/30/13, includes the most requested features, such as a blank canvas for the infill, a cantilever design with all moving parts protected from the environment, easy installation, adjustability of track assembly to compensate for slight installation differences, and front-loading of the gate when there is insufficient backspace to sideload.
We also offer an industrial line of gate operators which are compatible with the gate equipment and include variable speed and soft start and stop features. Optional features such as traffic lights, keypads, card readers, and control panels can easily be incorporated into the TCG-12 Crash Gate System.
Frequently Asked Questions
TYMETAL has been in the perimeter security solutions market since 1985. With more than three decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and installing the (K12) TCG-12 Crash Rated Cantilever Slide Gate & Operator System ASTM F2656 M50-P1/K12, we have encountered many questions along the way. Explore a few of the common questions we are asked below. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us by phone at 888-978-4283 or online.
How does the TCG-12 gate achieve U.S. DoS K12 compliance for vehicle impact resistance?
The TYMETAL TCG-12 achieves DoS K12 certification — equivalent to ASTM F2656 M50/P1 — by combining a heavily reinforced structural steel gate panel, engineered support posts, and a deep reinforced concrete foundation system that together absorb and redirect the kinetic energy of a 15,000-lb vehicle at 50 mph within a 1-meter penetration distance.
What engineering differences separate the TCG-12 from the TCG-4 K4 version?
The TCG-12 uses significantly heavier structural steel members, deeper post embedment, and a larger foundation footprint than the TCG-4 to handle the substantially greater impact energy of a K12-rated strike. The gate panel, roller carriages, and support frame are all scaled up to maintain structural integrity under forces approximately 10 times greater than the K4 test condition.
What are the standard gate span and clear opening dimensions?
The TCG-12 is available in lane widths suited for government and military vehicle access control points. Contact TYMETAL directly for certified span options and engineering specifications, as the available clear openings are determined by the foundation and structural design required to maintain full K12 certification.
Can this gate be automated with hydraulic or electromechanical operators?
Yes. The TCG-12 is available with both hydraulic and electromechanical operator systems configured for crash-rated gate duty. The operator is selected based on required cycle time, duty cycle, and site power availability. TYMETAL provides integrated operator and control panel configurations designed specifically for the TCG-12 installation requirements.
