Product Summary
If you’re looking for a bollard for your commercial, industrial, or government property, consider the innovative Truckstopper 6-30 bollard system. This K4 crash rated bollard combines a lightweight frame with the durability needed to stop both cars and trucks. Its revolutionary design is built to handle your challenging security concerns.
The Truckstopper 6-30 bollard system offers moderate protection from both accidental vehicular collisions and medium-duty truck-based attacks to municipal, commercial, military, and government sites. Experts have engineered and crash-tested single bollards to stop a 16,534 lb. (7.5 metric ton) truck traveling at 30 mph. Included in the K4 bollard system are rebar and an attractive 316L stainless steel shroud/cover.
The bollard system can be installed to be removable for applications such as outdoor concerts or fixed/static for military and commercial buildings. You can also choose between a single bollard or an array, depending on your precise security needs. The footing depth is 10 ½” plus the depth of the sidewalk (4”) or pavers (3”).

Frequently Asked Questions
TYMETAL has been in the perimeter security solutions market since 1985. With more than three decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and installing the Truckstopper 6-30 (K4 Type) Removable or Fixed Bollard, we have encountered many questions along the way. Explore a few of the common questions we are asked below. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us by phone at 888-978-4283 or online.
What crash rating does the TruckStopper 6-30 model achieve?
The TYMETAL TruckStopper 6-30 is a certified crash-rated bollard tested to ASTM F2656 standards, providing vehicle impact resistance suited for perimeter security applications. The “30” designation refers to the 30 mph impact speed in its certification parameters. Consult Tymetal for the full certification rating and penetration distance data for this model.
How does the removable feature operate and lock securely?
The removable TruckStopper 6-30 installs into a below-grade sleeve that remains permanently in the pavement. The bollard is lifted out for vehicle access and locked back in place using a secured locking mechanism that prevents unauthorized removal. The system is designed so that the installed bollard achieves the same crash resistance as the fixed configuration.
What foundation depth or sleeve is required for removable vs fixed configuration?
Both removable and fixed configurations require a concrete-encased steel sleeve foundation. The depth and diameter are specified by TYMETAL based on the bollard’s crash rating to ensure the foundation anchors the unit against vehicle impact forces. Fixed bollards are directly embedded, while removable units utilize the sleeve for interchangeable deployment.
What corrosion-resistant materials and finishes are available?
The TruckStopper 6-30 is available in stainless steel and with powder coat finish options for corrosion resistance in outdoor and high-traffic environments. Optional stainless steel or decorative covers can be specified for installations where aesthetics or harsh environmental conditions — such as coastal salt exposure — require additional protection.
What maintenance or inspection schedule should be followed?
TYMETAL recommends periodic inspection of the bollard’s locking mechanism, sleeve interface, and exterior coating for wear and corrosion. The anchor sleeve should be checked for debris accumulation that could impede installation or removal. Any bollard subjected to a vehicle strike must be inspected and certified before being returned to service.
