The TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate is ASTM F2656 M30-P1* certified (equivalent to U.S. Department of State K4). Will stop a 15,000 pound vehicle traveling at 30 mph within 1 meter. Depending on gate size and weight the TCG-4 utilizes the aluminum Heavy Duty or Structural Cantilever Slide Gate design that allows the user flexibility to match almost any existing fence design.

What crash rating defines the TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate’s performance?
The TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate has been crash tested in accordance with ASTM F2656-07-M30-P1, and certified by an accredited independent testing facility. It can stop a 15,000 lb. vehicle traveling at 30 mph within 1 meter upon impact.
What are the advantages of a cantilever style crash-rated slide gate system?
While robust enough to provide ASTM F2656-07-M30-P1 crash protection, the TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate is made of aluminum and is relatively light in weight. It won’t rust or place unreasonable demands on an operator to power it. The crash beam is comprised of highly engineered cabling housed in a heavy wall extruded aluminum enclosure. It otherwise will perform like the TYMETAL Heavy Duty or Structural Cantilever Slide Gate system. No ground track, ground wheels or overhead support needed.
What operator systems are available to power the TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate?
The TCG-4 can be operated manually or equipped with an electromechanical chain drive or hydraulic rail drive operator. While the typical speed is 1 foot per second, speeds up to 3 feet per second are available. Features include soft start/stop, battery backup and compatibility with virtually all access control and UL325 approved safety devices. All operators are UL325 compliant.
Are there safety sensors or redundancy systems for obstruction detection?
The TCG-4 Cantilever Slide Gate system meets ASTM F2200 standards (Standard Specification for Automated Vehicular Gate Construction) and is UL 325, Classes I, II, III and IV compliant. All TYMETAL operators incorporate inherent sensing and compatible with loop detectors, photo eyes, reversing edges and presence sensors that detect obstructions in the gates travel path. A combination of sensor and detection devices can result in redundancy which, depending on the application, is often a deliberate choice.
