Custom Gate Design and Features
TYMETAL designed a bespoke Box Frame Roller gate, clad in durable bronze clad materials. This material was chosen for its strength, longevity, and ability to complement the museum’s architectural aesthetic. The gate’s sleek finish integrates seamlessly with the museum’s historical facade while providing cutting-edge security.
This custom gate measures 60 feet 2 inches in length and is a right-angle trapezoid with heights ranging from 9 feet 9 inches to 10 feet. Gate actuation was provided by TYMETAL’s TYM-HYD hydraulic operator. Adjacent to the main gate, a 21-foot-long screen wall and a pedestrian access gate enhance both functionality and aesthetic integration. The proprietary welded steel track system, manufactured by TYMETAL, was cast directly into the concrete driveway to ensure durability and precision alignment. The trapezoidal design was necessary to accommodate the site’s subtle grade and drainage requirements, highlighting the project’s engineering complexity.

Seamless Gate Installation
The gate was installed by Pucci & Associates, whose expertise ensured the successful completion of this intricate project. Pucci noted that his firm worked to a 1/32-inch tolerance when setting the track system, which continues to provide trouble-free gate operation. According to Richard R. Pucci, “Tymetal, to their credit, made the gate to a tolerance really unknown and possibly unattainable elsewhere in the industry. Their gate proved to be within the 1/32-inch tolerance we achieved in setting the gate track. We took note of this when we set up the gate frame in our shop to complete the gate cladding.”
