TYM-4200-SR Swing Riser Gate and Operator System (Raises as it rotates open)

Product Notes

  • Closes single clear opening widths up to 16’ and double clear openings up to 32’.
  • TYM-4200-SR maximum gate weight: 1,600 pounds per gate panel.  Other Swing Riser models available having weight limits up to 3,000 pounds.
  • The gate panel rises as it opens, 4” before the cycle begins, and then incrementally to a total of 12” when completely open.
  • When in the closed position security rods drop 4” into a ground cavity, providing a greater level of security without the use of externally operated electric or mechanical locks.

Product Summary

The unique design of the Swing Riser operator eliminates the need for a remote motor box and connecting arm.  The operator blends into the fence line, having the appearance of a large diameter fence post.  The opening action of the gate panel will allow the gate to rise approximately 12” and clear adjacent curbs or obstructions.  As with all Heavy Duty Swing Gates, the Swing Riser Gate also utilizes heavy wall custom aluminum alloy extrusions and incorporates adjustable reinforcement cables.  It won’t sag of rust.

Features & Benefits

  • TYM-4200-SR opening or closing cycle time: 19 seconds.  Depending on gate panel size and weight other Swing Riser models available to open or close in 14 to 30 seconds.
  • UL 325 Listed for Class I, II, III and IV, with integrated entrapment sensing
  • Programmable Smart Touch Controller
  • Secure locking without the use of externally operated electric or mechanical locks
  • Continuous duty rated (200,000 cycle certification)
  • Separate NEMA-1R enclosure holds the Smart Touch Controller, electric motor, pump pack and standard hand pump.

Frequently Asked Questions

TYMETAL has been in the perimeter security solutions market since 1985. With more than three decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and installing the TYM-4200-SR Swing Riser Gate and Operator System, we have encountered many questions along the way. Explore a few of the common questions we are asked below. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us by phone at 888-978-4283 or online.

How does the TYM 4000-SR Swing Riser Gate maintain clearance on uneven or sloped surfaces?

The TYM 4000-SR incorporates a self-rising mechanism at the bottom of the gate panel that automatically lifts the gate clear of the ground as it swings, preventing the lower rail from dragging or binding on sloped, uneven, or undulating pavement. This allows the gate to operate reliably on grades and surface conditions where a standard swing gate bottom rail would catch or scrape.

What mechanical components enable the self-rising motion of this gate system?

The rising action is achieved through a cam or pivot mechanism integrated into the gate hinge and frame assembly that converts the rotational opening motion of the gate into a simultaneous vertical lift of the gate panel. As the gate swings open, the bottom rail rises automatically and returns to ground level as the gate closes, providing a weather-tight seal without drag.

How does the 4000-SR compare in performance to traditional swing and cantilever gates?

Compared to standard swing gates, the 4000-SR provides superior performance on sloped or uneven sites where conventional designs fail. Compared to cantilever slide gates, the 4000-SR occupies less lateral space since it doesn’t require a back-clearance tail section. It is best suited for applications where a swing gate is preferred but site grades make a standard design impractical.

What are the load limits and maximum span capabilities for this model?

The TYM 4000-SR is engineered for heavy-duty swing gate applications with load capacities and span options suited for commercial and industrial access points. Contact TYMETAL for specific width and weight specifications, as performance limits depend on the hinge configuration and structural frame selected for the installation.

What maintenance or lubrication schedule ensures optimal riser performance?

The riser mechanism, pivot cam, and hinge assemblies should be lubricated at least twice annually and inspected for wear, binding, or corrosion that could impede the rising action. The gate’s travel path should be kept clear of debris that could obstruct the rising motion, and the bottom rail seal should be inspected for damage after contact with ground obstacles.
