What gate styles does TYMETAL offer in crash-rated configurations?
TYMETAL offers Crash-Rated versions of most gate styles, to include Cantilever Slide, Box Frame Roller, V-Grove Roller, Overhead Slide, Vertical Lift, and Swing Gates. All have been tested to ASTM F2656 or US DoS SD-STD-2.01. *Engineered versions are also considered Crash-Rated. See below (*).
* Engineered: The gate or barrier is designed to pass the crash test stated based on extrapolating previous test results, engineering calculations and/or modeling. It may not have undergone an actual test. A stamped certification (PE stamp) can be provided to ensure compliance.
What crash test standards do TYMETAL crash-rated gates meet?

How do crash-rated gates differ structurally from standard security gates?
Crash-rated gates incorporate significantly reinforced post and frame connections, and engineered foundation anchor systems not present in standard gates. The structural members are sized to absorb and redirect the kinetic energy of a vehicle strike, transferring load into the foundation system rather than allowing gate penetration or collapse.
What maintenance protocols are required for crash-rated gates?
Crash-rated gates require all the same maintenance as standard gates — lubrication, alignment checks, and coating inspection — plus periodic review of foundation anchor integrity and structural fastener torque. After any vehicle impact, regardless of severity, the gate and foundation must be professionally inspected and certified before returning to service.
